Cycling in Oisans (pdf, 11 Mo)
21/09/15 More Information Download
All cycling routes depart from Bourg d'Oisans, the main borough of the community of Oisans, whose long even stretches allow you to train your legs before you reach the more mountainous parts. In addition, its geographical location in the heart of the community of Oisans makes it an ideal starting point. Our indications for the length of each tour are for the average cyclist running at approximately 28 km/h on flat roads and at 11 km/h uphill. These indications are, of course, subject to other conditions like wind, road condition, tiredness or even a meal with a little too much red wine …

Col d'Ornon, Col de Parquetout (n° 9)

This fairly easy road through the Lignarre Valley is very popular among cyclists at the beginning of the season. The bravest cyclists will use this warming up to carry on to the Valbonnais side up to Col de Parquetout, one of the toughest in the region.

La grimpée d'Oulles (n° 8)

The 7 km of hairpin bends are quite strenuous, but the uphill ride remains pleasant on this small and little-used road. There is a somewhat Mediterranean feel to this south-facing, wind-sheltered slope with its covering of pine trees!

Alpe d'Huez, la montée mythique (n° 3)

Want to relive the moments of euphoria on this mythical stage of the Tour de France?
From Bourg d'Oisans, the climb has an incline of 7.9% over a total length of 13.8 km. No one has ever beaten Marco Pantani’s impressive record of 37’35’’.

Villard Notre Dame et Villard Reymond (n° 7)

This ascent carved out of the cliff face is very spectacular. The road very soon rises above the Bourg d'Oisans plain. The views over the Grandes Rousses massif and Romanche and the Vénéon Valleys are stunning.

La Marmotte (n° 15)
